Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Otty is an iOS application developed and operated by Sagi Levy (referred to as “we,” “us,” or “Otty”) as an individual Apple Developer Program member. This Privacy Policy explains how personal information is collected, used, and protected when you use the Otty app or visit this website.

2. Information we collect

We collect only the data needed to make Otty work. Specifically:

Account information

• Email address (if you create an account, via Firebase Authentication)
• Display name (optional)
• Partner pairing code or partner’s Otty ID (if you choose to link with a partner)

Cycle and relationship data

• Cycle dates and phase information you enter
• Notes, symptoms, or preferences you add
• Notification preferences and nudge settings

This data stays in your account. It is not used for advertising or sold to third parties. If you are paired with a partner, the subset of data needed for partner features (current phase, nudge timing) is visible to your partner inside the app.

Subscription data

• Your subscription status, renewal date, and subscription plan, managed through Apple’s In-App Purchase system and RevenueCat
• We do not receive or store your payment method, credit card, or Apple ID password. Apple handles all billing.

Device and technical data

• Device type and iOS version (for compatibility and bug diagnostics)
• Crash logs submitted to Apple (anonymous, opt-in through iOS)
• Basic usage signals (feature opens, nudge open rate) used to improve the app; no third-party analytics provider

Push notifications

• Your device’s Apple Push Notification token, used to deliver daily nudges and cycle reminders. You can disable push notifications at any time in iOS Settings.

3. How we use your information

• To run the core features of the app (cycle tracking, phase guidance, nudges, partner pairing)
• To manage your subscription and provide billing support
• To respond to support emails
• To diagnose crashes and improve performance
• To comply with legal obligations

We do not use your data for advertising. We do not build behavioral profiles for marketing. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

4. Who we share data with

We share limited data only with the service providers required to operate Otty:

• Google / Firebase (authentication, database, push notification delivery): processes your account and cycle data on our behalf under Google’s data processing terms. Firebase’s privacy documentation: firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
• RevenueCat (subscription management): receives your anonymous App Store subscription identifier and subscription status to verify and restore purchases. RevenueCat’s privacy policy: revenuecat.com/privacy.
• Apple (iOS, App Store, In-App Purchase, Push Notifications): Apple handles billing and delivers notifications. Apple’s privacy policy applies to those interactions.

We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or valid legal process, or if necessary to protect our rights, the safety of users, or investigate fraud.

5. Where your data is stored

Firebase stores data in Google Cloud regions. Depending on your location, data may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries where Google operates servers. By using Otty, you consent to this cross-border transfer. Firebase maintains industry-standard safeguards for international data transfers including the EU Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable.

6. How long we keep your data

• Active accounts: your data is kept while your account is active.
• Inactive accounts: accounts with no activity for 24 months may be deleted, after an email warning.
• On request: you can request deletion of your data at any time (see Section 8). We will delete your account and associated data within 30 days of request, except where we are required by law to retain certain records.
• Subscription records: retained for 7 years for tax and financial compliance, after personal identifiers are removed.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest on Firebase. That said, no system is perfectly secure. If we ever become aware of a breach that affects your information, we will notify you by email or in-app as soon as reasonably possible and as required by applicable law.

8. Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data (most is editable directly in the app)
• Export your data in a portable format
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Withdraw consent for processing (some features may not work after withdrawal)
• Object to or restrict processing
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

If you are in the EU, UK, or similar jurisdictions, additional GDPR rights may apply. If you are a California resident, you have specific rights under the CCPA/CPRA including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale (we do not sell data).

9. Children’s privacy

Otty is not intended for users under 13 years old (or under 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete the information promptly.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-app and by updating the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of Otty after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
