Share Your Cycle With Your Partner

Otty is a period tracker you can share with your partner: you log a ten-second daily check-in, and your partner sees the phase you are in and what actually helps, right on their own phone. No explaining the same thing every month, and no handing over your unlocked tracker.

How cycle sharing works in Otty

Cycle sharing in Otty takes three steps: you each install Otty on your own phone, you pair up, and from then on your partner's own Today screen shows where you are in your cycle and how to show up well. Either of you can be the one who starts, and Otty works solo too; the couple features simply wait until you pair.

1 Track your cycle

Log your period and a ten-second daily check-in: mood, symptoms, energy. Otty maps your five phases from the dates you log.

2 Invite your partner

Pair your accounts from Settings. You choose whether check-in sharing is on and what your partner can see.

3 They see how to help

Your partner's Today screen and calendar show your phase, your shared check-ins, and one concrete tip for the day.

What your partner sees (and what they don't)

When sharing is on, your partner sees your current phase in plain terms, the check-ins you chose to share, and a gentle heads-up before rough days, each paired with a tip that matches what you logged. They see what helps; they do not get a window into everything.

Your partner sees

  • Today's phase, named in plain terms, like Storm (period) or Glow (ovulation window)
  • The mood and symptoms you logged, on their Today screen and calendar, when check-in sharing is on
  • A gentle heads-up before rough days, so support arrives early instead of late
  • One phase-matched tip a day: what usually helps, and what to skip

Your partner does not see

  • Anything, if sharing is off. Off means off.
  • Check-ins you chose not to share
  • Your account or data controls: those stay yours alone
  • Unwanted content: partner-shared content includes report and block controls

You stay in control of your data

Your cycle data is stored locally on your device by default. Signing in is optional and is used for cloud backup, partner pairing, and syncing across devices. We never sell your data, and your period and cycle information stays private: sharing extends only as far as the invitation you chose to send.

The five phases your partner learns

Otty describes the cycle in five phases, each paired with its plain name, so your partner learns the vocabulary without a biology lecture. Instead of guessing at moods, they see a phase, what it usually feels like, and what tends to help.

Built so two people can read the same day

Most trackers were built for one person, with partner sharing added later as a viewing window. Otty puts the same day on both phones: each of you gets your own side, and the partner's side turns the calendar into one thing to do today. If you want to see how the options compare, we published an honest comparison of the best period tracker for couples, other apps included. And if your partner wants the fuller playbook, our guide on how to support your partner during her period is the place to start.

Cycle sharing FAQ

Is there a period tracker my boyfriend can see too?

Yes. You track your cycle in Otty, and your boyfriend sees your current phase, the check-ins you share, and a daily tip on his own phone. You invite him yourself, you decide what he sees, and you can stop sharing anytime in Settings.

Do we both need the Otty app?

For the shared experience, yes: each of you uses Otty on your own phone, and pairing links the two. Either of you can be the one who installs it first, and Otty works solo too; the couple features simply wait until you pair up.

Can my partner see everything I log?

No. Your partner sees your phase and the check-ins you chose to share, plus a heads-up before rough days. Sharing is optional, you control what is included, and turning it off in Settings ends it immediately.

How is this different from the sharing modes in other period trackers?

Sharing modes in solo trackers usually show a partner dates and phases. Otty gives the partner their own side: the phase, the shared check-ins, and a concrete daily suggestion for how to help. We compared the options honestly, including apps that are not ours, in our guide to the best period tracker for couples.

What does Otty cost?

Otty comes with a seven-day free trial, then costs $5.99 a month or $39.99 a year. There are no ads, and no free trial that auto-bills without warning.

What if my partner has Android?

Otty is on iPhone today, and Android is on the way. In the meantime, one iPhone running Otty still covers a lot: the daily check-ins, the shared calendar, and the nudges all live there.
